Yangtze River International Forum was co-founded by Jiangsu Association for Friendship and International Exchanges (JAFIE) and Nanjing University in the beginning of 2014. Aiming to promote foreign exchange between China and other regions in the world and to provide policy advice to government entities, the forum serves as China's leading think tank for strategic decisions and is an important regional platform for international exchange and dialogue.

Featuring in roundtable talks, international seminars, and summits, Yangtze River International Forum has a standing council and academic advisory board, and is composed of government officials, business leaders, leading experts, and scholars, who are keen on the current situation and development trends in international politics and the economy.
