2014年初,江苏省对外友好交流促进会联合南京大学等机构创办了“扬子江国际论坛”。论坛宗旨是组织国内外知名专家、学者、行业精英等人士，密切关注当今国际政治和经济的形势和发展动向，从国家战略高度，探讨、研究和分析国际和国内热点及难点问题，致力于促进中国与世界各个国家、地区的友好合作和往来，促进中国对外关系的健康发展，为政府提供政策咨询服务，力争成为“战略决策的高端智库、国际交流的对话平台”。

论坛每年举办高端年会、国际研讨会，不定期举办著名专家学者及各界精英人士的高端讲座,开展国际关系问题以及国家内政外交政策层面的专题研究。论坛设有理事会和学术顾问委员会，理事会成员由政府官员、国内外著名专家学者、工商界领袖等组成。其中名誉理事长、理事长分别由原全国人大、江苏人大的领导同志兼任。学术顾问委员会名誉主任、主任由国内外的顶级专家学者担任。论坛经费主要来源为政府资助、社会和企业赞助等。

Yangtze River International Forum was co-founded by Jiangsu Association for Friendship and International Exchanges (JAFIE) and Nanjing University in the beginning of 2014. Aiming to promote foreign exchange between China and other regions in the world and to provide policy advice to government entities, the forum serves as China's leading think tank for strategic decisions and is an important regional platform for international exchange and dialogue.

Featuring in roundtable talks, international seminars, and summits, Yangtze River International Forum has a standing council and academic advisory board, and is composed of government officials, business leaders, leading experts, and scholars, who are keen on the current situation and development trends in international politics and the economy. The forum is supported financially by government, social entities, and enterprises.
